An informal meeting of the INSULEUR Board of Directors took place in Palma de Mallorca on February 16th

An informal meeting of the INSULEUR Board of Directors took place on 16^th February in the Chamber of Commerce of Mallorca. It gave the opportunity for several Presidents of insular Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the President of INSULEUR and the technical committee to meet and discuss different issues:

 

 

• INSULEUR's position on insularity presented to the EESC study group as part of the public hearing of 17/02;

 

• INSULEUR's work program for 2012, mainly focusing on the preparation of the forthcoming forum that will be held in Brussels, in November 2012 and lobbying activities;

 

• The setting up of a new working group on tourism amongst different  European networks of CCI (Greek, Spanish, Italian, French, and INSULEUR)

 

• Up to date information on the organization of the forthcoming INSULEUR Forum

 

• The Pact of Islands initiative

 

• A proposal to foresee new contacts with the insular Chambers of Commerce of Northern Europe

 

• A presentation of the communication results of the InnoNauTICs project.

 

This was also the occasion to introduce the newly elected President of the Gozo Business Chamber, Mr. Michael GRECH, and to welcome the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Îlesde Guadeloupe, Ms. Colette KOURY. The President of Group I of the European Economic and Social Committee, Mr. Henri Malosse, also took part in the meeting.
