PROJECT TITLE: Rural Communities engaged with positive energy PLUS ACRONYM: COMPOSE PLUS
ABOUT: COMPOSE PLUS project will capitalise on the successful development of a sustainable development planning tool, the COMPOSE tool, demonstrating its practical use value in development planning, supporting policymakers and development planners to mature projects towards the clean energy transition, focusing especially on rural and island areas of the MED. The project is delivered by a consortium of 12 partners from 6 countries (Greece, Malta, Italy, BiH, Croatia, Portugal). The consortium includes partners among other from National/Regional/Local Public Authorities , Interest Groups, BSOs etc.
EXPECTED RESULTS: The project aims at having 7 MED countries, transfer, adopt and mainstream COMPOSE tool and therefore increase their planning capacity and by spill over effect also capacity of several more stakeholders, to be better prepared for absorption of EU and cohesion funds, especially in the energy sector. The transfer will be implemented via training and capacity building courses, co-developed in consortia, upon stakeholder needs analysis and EU new multiannual financial framework financing opportunities. To ensure sustainability, receivers will sign a Memorandum of Understanding, to further use COMPOSE tool in their operations, exclusive train the trainer courses will also be implemented not only to secure institutional sustainability but also to support mainstreaming and further uptake of COMPOSE approach in respective countries.
